ViewSonicTablet
Language(s):
The tablet has been lying in the hackerspace for weeks. People have played with the Android OS which runs nicely on it. As it is an x86-compatible HW, it can run GNU/Linux just fine. Let's make it dualboot those and find creative uses for it. It would hang nicely on the wall, displaying important alert messages, it could serve as an ad-hoc IRC terminal too. At the same time, let's make it detachable so it can be used as a real tablet, still. Just imagine putting and external Webcam on it, heading towards the back of the tablet. Such a contraption could serve as a neat (video)camera to document the happenings and sucesses in the hackerspace.

- Latest status: We decided to use the Tablet with Android 4.0RC at the moment. For now at least we'll leave it. It proved to be useful as a streaming client for the background music while we're at the base. :-)

- The Android OS could also be loaded from Ubuntu's GRUB directly, but what kernel parameters to choose??
